Services
What we do
Three services sharing one discipline. Most clients start with one and grow into the others.
01
Analytics engineering
The data infrastructure organisations need to measure their own work.
What we do
- Data pipeline and ETL design
- Automated data collection and ingestion workflows
- Reporting and management information systems
- Dashboard development
- Data quality and assurance reviews
- Data governance frameworks
How we work
NLP and machine learning are used for text classification and topic extraction, applied where they measurably beat a simpler approach and never as a substitute for a documented method.
We work with Python, R, SQL, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Power BI and QGIS.
Engagements are delivered directly by the practitioner who scopes them, and sized to what we can do well.
02
Media analytics
Measuring how coverage and public conversation move across channels.
What you get
- Systematic monitoring across broadcast, online news and public social media
- Analysis of themes and coverage patterns over time
- Sentiment and tone analysis by outlet and platform
- Scheduled briefings, dashboard access and exportable reports
- Findings checked against documented criteria before release
Who it is for
Research organisations, civil society, foundations and donor-funded programmes, multilateral organisations, and institutions operating in the markets we cover.
03
Governance and assurance
The documentation and decisions organisations need when they have to show how they work, not just that they work.
Data protection
- Data protection impact assessments and legitimate-interest assessments
- Records of processing activities, built and maintained
- Data-sharing and joint-controller arrangements
- Retention schedule design and review
- Data protection review of systems and suppliers before procurement
Quality management
- Quality management system documentation
- Process mapping, procedures and work instructions
- Internal audit programme design
- Non-conformance, corrective action and continuous improvement processes
- Preparation for ISO 9001 certification
How we work
Governance work is delivered by the practitioner who scopes it, and written to be read by the people who have to act on it rather than filed and forgotten.
We prepare organisations for certification. We are not a certification body and do not audit for certification.
Where a question needs legal opinion rather than practitioner judgement, we say so. We are not a law firm and do not present ourselves as one.
Our own quality policy is published, and is a working example of the kind of documentation we build. Read it here.
Engagement
How we work with clients
Project
A defined question or deliverable, scoped and priced up front.
Ongoing
Managed monitoring or reporting on a recurring cycle.
Advisory
Shorter engagements to design an approach your own team then runs.
